Alix Marie

Bleu investigates the parallels between skin and the photograph: both surfaces, both fragile, both filled with secrets and taboos.

Marie’s practice merges sculpture, photography and installation. Her work explores the relationship between the body and its representation through processes of objectification, fragmentation, magnification and accumulation.

‘The photograph’ is considered first and foremost an object and is explored through its potential for materiality, touch, and three-dimensionality.

Marie was recently selected for the Foam Talent Call and will be featured in the travelling Foam Talent exhibition that launched in Amsterdam on 31 August 2017. In 2018, Marie will have a solo show as part of the Düsseldorf Photo Weekend after winning the prestigious 2017 Portfolio Review Award
